Alex and Meredith’s wedding had so many dreamy boho details! We love the Macrame accents. Handmade table runners by the bride…yes please! (Check out Meredith’s Etsy Store Fig and Fiber!).
The light airy mix of greens and whites in mismatched vases on the tables complemented the barn perfectly; as did the simple, crisp white place settings accented by a small jar of local honey for guests to take home. Meredith’s easy breezy “Free People” dress was one of our favorites of the season.
We also loved the traditional Appalachian Apple Stack Cake Meredith chose. It was the first time that Beth from Ugga Mugga Bakery had ever created one but I bet it won’t be the last. It was seriously amazing!!!
“Appalachian lore suggests that the stack cake originated as an Appalachian wedding cake. Guests would each bring a layer of cake and the bride’s family would receive them and stack them together with prepared apple butter or applesauce. Supposedly, the number of layers on the cake indicated the couple’s popularity.” – Simply Appalachian
