As you probably already know if you are planning an outdoor wedding in the North Carolina Mountains, the weather can be unpredictable at best. Here are some important things to think about when laying the groundwork for your event.
1 – Tent walls and heaters if it’s cold – It doesn’t matter how gorgeous and heart warming your wedding is i
f your guests are freezing!
2 – Be sure that your tent has enough room under it so that if it is rainy (or god forbid snowy), you can pull everything inside and your guests still have plenty room to move around comfortably.
3 – Let your guests know that the mountain weather can be unpredictable and to dress accordingly. Suggest layers, rain coats/umbrellas and encourage the ladies to leave the stilettos at home and opt for a wedge heel.
4 – Show your guests you care about them! You could provide cozy pashminas as a favor for a fall wedding or colorful fans and parasols, personalized flip flops or fun sunglasses in the summer. If you don’t want to open up the bar before the ceremony be sure there is plenty of water provided for your guests. You could even have a creative non-alcoholic cocktail or coffee bar for your guests when they arrive on site to make them feel welcome.
