Maddie & Jimbo’s Wedding Weekend was an ode to Fall in the mountains in every sense of the word.
From their Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party at Chetola Resort on Friday, complete with a “mountain chic” dress code, to their Wedding Day at Blowing Rock Country Club, with seasonal colors woven throughout the event, it was an Autumn Mountain Fête to remember!!
Picture this: crisp, breezy weather, leaves just beginning to fall, and a curated playlist accompanying your travels to the High Country; that’s how the weekend started for Maddie and Jimbo’s guests!
“Travel Tunes” were listed on Maddie and Jimbo’s wedding website and linked with a QR Code on the back of their details card to a playlist they created. They wanted their guests to get into the groove of the weekend! We love this fun touch that can also serve as a nostalgic soundtrack for years to come!
Friday Night:
Kicking off their weekend, Maddie and Jimbo chose Chetola Resort for their Friday evening events. Under a gorgeous tent by the lake, tables were adorned with yellow and white checkered tablecloths, bright printed napkins, mismatched mauve goblets, floating candles, and white and pale yellow florals in ceramic competes created by April Flowers Studio.
Maddie designed a beautiful seating chart to guide guests to their seats for the evening. She created a board as a focal point, featuring wallpaper and hand-lettered names that directed guests to their assigned seats.
After the sun went down and stars made their appearance on the crystal clear night, the tent was filled with music by Sassafras Bluegrass, a High Country bluegrass band.
Guests were encouraged to don “Mountain Chic” attire and bring out their hats and boots for the occasion. The fashion did not disappoint!

Saturday:
As Saturday began, the excitement was palpable as Maddie and her bridesmaids sat for hair and makeup by Jami Svay, a Charlotte-Based Celebrity Makeup Artist.
Meanwhile, Megan Sheppard, Photographer for the weekend, captured all of the tangible details of their wedding weekend in breathtaking flat lays.
We can’t delve too far into this post without mentioning Maddie’s stunning fashion selections! Maddie’s dress was crafted by designer Sassi Holford and found at Ladies of Lineage, a Charlotte favorite. Maddie wore a family veil worn by Jimbo’s sister and various cousins.
Pinned to Maddie’s bouquet was a pearl pin that belonged to her grandmother and has been worn by all of the women in her family.
Maddie’s gown included a lace overlay with long sleeves that she removed for dancing later in the night, giving her a second look with her Sassi Holford gown.
Her bridesmaids wore a mix of designers and dresses, which lent to the overall wedding design of an ode to the start of fall. Bridesmaids selected dresses in a mixture of pink, yellow, and orange and a multitude of fabrics and textures, which brought a natural and organic feel to the bridal party look.
Jimbo wore a classic tuxedo from Kannon’s Clothing, a time-honored clothing store based in Raleigh. He wore a boutonniere designed similarly to Maddie’s bouquet.
Their ceremony was held at the lakehouse at Blowing Rock Country Club. Flowers in the Fall color palette enhanced the altar space overlooking. Leading to the aisle were several Fall floral arrangements and gold candlelit lanterns.
Summit Strings Quartet served as the accompaniment to the ceremony with a mixture of classical and contemporary selections.
After the “I do’s” guests were shuttled to the clubhouse for cocktail hour on the terrace.
Maddie and Jimbo made their entrance into their reception and had their first dance to the classic song “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” performed by The Band Punch who absolutely rocked the night.
Following dances, they enjoyed dinner and soon after dusted their millefoglie cake with powdered sugar together!
An extra special moment in the evening was when Jimbo’s cousin, Walker, joined the band on stage with his saxophone to play a song!
Guests enjoyed a fun signature cocktail that tied to their last name, the “B’s Knees”!
As the party continued, Maddie changed into a shorter dress adorned with jewels! The evening ended with a private last dance and sparklers before the Bride and Groom rode off on a Golf Cart but shortly returned to head over to Town Tavern for an after-party filled with karaoke!
It was a weekend full of joy, dancing, and all of the beauty of Fall in the High Country on full display, highlighted by Maddie and Jimbo’s love story.
