Abby was one of our favorite clients for 2023. We hit it off right from the start AND to make it even more special we planned her cousin Stevie’s wedding in the summer of 2022.
Abby’s wedding was originally planned for September at The Mill at Rock Creek in Boone NC. When she and Johnny found out they were expecting they decided to go ahead and get married closer to their home in Alexandria, VA. We said “please take us with you!!!”.
We were able to have most of Abby’s original vendors be a part of the reenvisioned wedding celebration. Out of town weddings are a blast and it was so fun to take a road trip with the April Flowers team and Michelle Lyerly.
Johnny went to Gonzaga High School so St Aloysius Church which is a part of the campus was a really special choice for the ceremony.

Army Navy Country Club was a dreamy backdrop for the reception. We loved working with their team. The April Flowers design team, did an amazing job of pivoting from a later summer mountain wedding them to winter in the city. The mixes of whites and cream with clouds of baby’s breath were the perfect accent to this historic space.

Road Trip with our vendor friends!!! Three Costume Changes, A break between ceremony and cocktail hour, historic locations, custom matches, an all white palette with bridesmaids in black.
The mad dash to a post ceremony shoot at the National Mall with lots of illegal U turns and parking.
The kindest humans in the world with one on the way.
