Lets talk about Micro Weddings and Elopements

April 11, 2020

We’re right there with you…. In light of recent world events, we really don’t know what to expect the wedding industry to look like in the near future. It’s definitely a crazy time to be planning a wedding but then again, it’s also a crazy time to be a human.

Micro Weddings and Elopements have been on the rise for a while – but we’re predicting that they will be taking center stage in 2020 and 2021. We’re still planning to custom quote all of our events but are currently putting some thought into how to package these services and also seek out professionals to bring on new techy features so that your friends at home can be a part of the big day from afar.

What exactly is a Micro Wedding?

Under 40 total in attendance is how we’re choosing to define it [Some other sources say up to 50 and others say no more than 20]. Micro Weddings typically have a shorter and more laid back timeline.

While a Micro Wedding is surprisingly similar to a larger scale event from a planning standpoint, it’s a more affordable option that is generally less stressful overall for the couple. Some of the perks are being able to splurge a little more per guest and really focus on personalizing those details. You’ll also get to spend more time with those closest to you.

What exactly is an Elopement?

While a Micro Wedding is basically just a small scale wedding, elopements focus more on the union itself. Maybe there are a handful of guests, maybe not, maybe there’s an intimate dinner or after party following, maybe the couple takes off for a waterfall hike on their own after tying the knot. The possibilities are endless and the expectations of a normal weddings really don’t apply.
