Taylor and John’s wedding was as gorgeous as it was easy breezy and fun. Taylor’s family owns the Historic Gideon Ridge Inn in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Her family has shared many special memories there over the years. St. Mary’s of the Hills Episcopal Church was the perfect complement to the Old School elegance of the Mountain Inn.
Guests were greeted at the door with French 75s and proceeded through the main house to cocktail hour on the back terrace. Hunter Womble, Head Chef at Gideon, created a masterful menu that was perfect for guests mingling about an exploring the property. My absolute favorite was the build your own Tomato Sandwich Station!!!
Once the Bride and Groom returned from the church they dug up the bourbon (buried a month before to ward off bad weather) and shared it with their friends. They then had a private dinner for two on the Sunrise Terrace before joining their guests under a beautiful tent in the back yard and dancing the night away to the sweet tunes by Emerald Empire Band. Overall one of the most enjoyable weddings we’ve ever been a part of. Literally the perfect blend of sophistication and playfulness!
